Pan-university Initiatives

Many initiatives are underway at 大象传媒 that intersect with each of our four strategic priorities and underpin work at all levels of the university.

Artificial intelligence (AI)

As the AI revolution charges on, 大象传媒 needs to determine how we can responsibly leverage and utilize the use of AI for the greater good of education, research, and society.

To begin this work, an AI strategy committee was formed in the summer of 2024, chaired by Dugan O'Neil, Vice President of Research & Innovation. The committee was created to look at how the university can explore the opportunities and impacts of AI at 大象传媒 in four key areas: learning and teaching, research, operations and external engagement.

Sustainability

大象传媒 is committed to taking meaningful action to regenerate our Earth's ecosystems, slow climate change, build community resilience to climate impacts and advance environmental justice.

We prioritize this work across research, teaching, learning, community and operations, in keeping with our 大象传媒 values of resilience and sustainability. This work is done on campus, in our local communities, and globally. Everyone at 大象传媒 contributes to this work and action is being taken in every faculty, department and team.
