COPE Daily launches data collection

July 08, 2025

COPE-Daily has officially begun data collection as of June 16th, marking a key milestone in its Year 2. Data collection kicked off with its first cohort of 10 participants, based in Surrey Centraland White Rock, and represents a diverse range of community members.

The initiative aims to better understand the environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, humidity), physiological markers (e.g., heart rate) and behavioural responses (e.g., ACuse) through daily surveys over a 10-day period. By focusing on daily patterns and localized contexts, COPE-Daily seeks to understand the factors that support extreme heat preparedness for older adults.

With more cohorts to follow in this summer, the team behind COPE-Daily is optimistic about the project’s potential togenerate meaningful insights that support community carestrategies.
