Suggested Schedule for High School Entrants - Fall 2025
The number of courses you take in your first term is up to you. We normally suggest you start with 4 courses as this will help with your transition to university level study. You can always reach out to an advisor if you need help deciding.
Before enrolling in courses, please connect with French Advisor, H茅l猫ne Pouliot, to confirm your proficiency level/course placement.
The following courses will be offered in Fall 2025. Please check with the French advisor before enrolling to determine your level and the courses she recommends for your first term:
- FREN 101-3 Elementary French I
- FREN 102-3 Elementary French II
- FREN 201-3 Intermediate French I
- FREN 202-3 Intermediate French II
- FREN 245-3 Introduction to French and Francophone Studies
- FREN 275-3 French Inside Out: Introduction to French Language, Culture and Society
- FREN 300-3, Francophone Arts, Cultures and Traditions: Advanced Oral Practice
- FREN 301W-1 Writing Your Way Toward French Proficiency
- FREN 330-3 Francophone World
- FREN 352-3 French and Francophone Cultures through Films and/or Media Texts
In addition, you may wish to take 1 or 2 elective courses* in your first term. While these can be in any program area, you are encouraged to take:
- one or more of your breadth requirements (B-Hum, B-Soc, B-Sci)
