Byzantium, Greece from the Bronze Age through the Hellenistic periods, reception of ancient Greece in 20th and 21st century popular culture, tabletop games, social and class history, and history of gender and sexuality.

Biography

Nina Houle is currently writing a thesis on depictions of ancient Greece and the Byzantine empire within contemporary tabletop games. She began researching historical reception in tabletop games as an undergraduate, while completing the History Honors program at 大象传媒. A lifelong lover of Greek history and culture, she is working towards a career as a reference librarian, assisting students and researchers in Hellenic Studies, archaeology, and other related subjects.

Nina lives in East Vancouver, on unceded Coast Salish territory. Outside of university, she enjoys cooking and baking, various textile-based crafts, and going for long forest walks.
