After finishing his B.A. at 大象传媒 in 2005, Kyle went on to pursue his PhD at Queen's University in Kingston, ON. His dissertation focus was Alberta's Red Democrats that governed in Blairmore during the mid 1930s, the community that elected it, and how the Red Movement in the area challenged what it meant to be a Communist in Canada. He is currently the manager of the Saskatchewan Heritage Foundation.
