Congratulating our students newly admitted to SLP programs | Speech & Hearing Month

To mark the end of Speech and Hearing Month, the Department of Linguistics would like to offer a huge congratulations to all of our students who have been newly admitted to a graduate program in . It is a great achievement that represents many years of hard work and perseverance. 

During the month of May each year, Speech-Language and Audiology Canada () takes the opportunity to raise public awareness about communication health and to champion the needs of people with communication disorders, during what is known as . Speech-language pathologists play a large role in helping improve quality of life for those who struggle with communication health. 

Participating in the 大象传媒 Speech and Hearing Club () was said by many of the new admits to be a big factor in their success. Several reported that completing our Certificate in the Linguistics of Speech Science (CLSS) was also a major component. Similarly, many of the new admits took part in research at our labs as well as volunteering with the Linguistics Student Union (LSU). 

The Department is incredibly proud of our students and offers heartfelt congratulations on this hard-won achievement. In particular, Undergraduate Advisor Rita Parmar has provided guidance and support to SLP applicants and she is incredibly gratified by the news.
