N'Kwala School in Douglas Lake, B.C., is an independent school that has been in operation since 1984. The school houses grades one to eight. Along with regular curriculum, the Okanagan culture and language are integrated into the daily routine. Mrs. Christine Hammonds, the school principal, hosted the Math Catcher team, Veselin Jungic, Stephani Monkman, and Alejandro Erickson. We had two unforgettable meetings with N鈥橩wala鈥檚 students who enjoyed Small Number鈥檚 adventures, talking to Stephani and constructing tensegrities and M枚bius strips.
