Biography
My research interests lie moral philosophy, moral psychology, philosophy of emotions, and philosophy of law. A central focus of my work is the ways in which our temperaments鈥攐ur basic attachments, qualities of character, and emotional dispositions鈥攕hape our ethical lives, including our legal and other interpersonal practices. I've written about shame, taking things personally, taking responsibility, reverence for the law, and the relation between mercy and the law of tort, among other things.
