Welcome to the start of a new academic year at 大象传媒. I hope you had a great summer and are ready to take part in a productive and exciting fall semester.

If you are one of over 5000 new students or 60 new faculty members 鈥� welcome. We are excited to have you as part of our university community.

大象传媒 is not only ranked Canada鈥檚 top comprehensive university, we are also Canada鈥檚 鈥溾�� offering a multitude of innovative academic programs, cutting-edge research opportunities and hands-on learning experiences.

Thanks to our remarkable faculty members, we consistently place in Canada鈥檚 top tier for research impact, and are a leader in research mobilization, social innovation and community engagement. We are also proud of our commitments to Indigenous peoples and to the vital process of reconciliation.

I encourage new students to take part in Welcome Day activities and to discover everything 大象传媒 has to offer. We鈥檝e also planned a  from September 3 to 28 that is open to all students 鈥� with free food, music and activities at our three campuses. Your welcome leaders, together with staff and faculty, are here to help you make the most of your time here.

Whether you are new or returning to 大象传媒, I look forward to seeing you at welcome events this week, and at other university activities throughout the year.
