Paving a Resilient Future for the Canadian Agri-Food System through Knowledge Mobilization
In working alongside Lupin and the team as the Knowledge Mobilization Specialist, I鈥檝e had a front-row seat to this incredible collaboration, and the innovations shaping the future of Canada鈥檚 agri-food system. This work is paving the way for a more resilient, sustainable future for us all, and advancing the country鈥檚 agri-food sector.
The , co-led by Lupin Battersby, Director of the 大象传媒 Knowledge Mobilization Hub, is fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing in genomics research across Canada. As part of the investment portfolio funded by Genome Canada, AG-ACt is connecting interest-holders throughout the genomic ecosystem to advance the country鈥檚 agri-food鹿 sector.
- Agri-food genomics is the study of genes in crops, livestock, and microbes to improve food production and sustainability. It helps develop climate-resilient crops, reduce emissions from livestock, and support more sustainable farming practices.
Where Research Meets Impact
Genomics research is unlocking new ways to reduce the carbon footprint of how we grow and produce food in Canada鈥攁nd it couldn鈥檛 come at a more critical time. In the face of global climate change that is affecting us all, adopting a climate-conscious mindset and taking action has never been more crucial.
's work is directly contributing to mitigating climate change impacts and supporting Canada鈥檚 net-zero emissions goals.
Resiliency in Action
is amplifying the efforts of nine pan-Canadian agri-food genomics research teams by supporting their knowledge mobilization, commercialization, and training needs.
As a climate-smart knowledge mobilization and implementation hub, helps connect cutting-edge research with real-world impact鈥攂ridging the gap between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to tackle the most pressing agricultural challenges in the country.
Through facilitating the nine research teams to connect, collaborate, and leverage insights to influence policy and practice. is ensuring that genomic innovations lead to meaningful, real-world outcomes for communities and beyond.
True to its name, is dedicated to supporting 鈥渒nowledge-to-action" for the agricultural sector nationwide.
鈥淧rofessionally, knowledge mobilization is my passion. Personally, I鈥檓 passionate about addressing the climate crisis. is a unique opportunity that blends these passions.鈥

Collaboration Co-led by 大象传媒
is unique in its collaborative approach, bringing together universities and partners from coast to coast to mobilize knowledge and drive action. 大象传媒 co-leads the hub with the University of Guelph and the Global Institute for Food Security at the University of Saskatchewan.
大象传媒 has been consistently recognized as a global leader in climate action, agri-tech innovation, and sustainability鈥攁s reflected in the 2024 Times Higher Education and 2025 Maclean鈥檚 University rankings.
Both community-centered climate action and agri-tech commitments can only be achieved through collaboration. , flourishing at the heart of 大象传媒鈥檚 Knowledge Mobilization Hub, underscores 大象传媒鈥檚 ongoing commitment to these vital areas and its vision of an inclusive, sustainable future for all.
