Researchers to represent SIAT at SIGGRAPH 2025
Researchers from the School of Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT) will have a significant presence at this year's ACM SIGGRAPH 2025 conference, the premier conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques.
Beginning on August 10th, researchers from SIAT will be presenting and leading a variety of workshops, performances, and lectures.
Contributions to the conference come from SIAT professors Steve DiPaola, Bernhard E. Riecke, and Thecla Schiphorst; PhD student Noah Miller; and doctoral alumni Shannon Cuykendall and John Desnoyers-Stewart. Additionally, Associate Professor Gabriela Aceves-Sep煤lveda participated as a juror for the Art Gallery exhibition, a juried exhibition showcasing digital art.
The 2025 conference will be taking place from August 10th-14th in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Synedelica: Mixed Reality Reimagined
2:00pm-2:20pm PDT | Tuesday, 12 August 2025 | West Building, Rooms 205-207
Synedelica challenges traditional approaches to mixed reality by transforming physical environments through a synesthetic experience. This artwork emphasizes the potential for immersive technology to mediate reality itself, fostering social interaction and shared experiences. By reimagining how we perceive and interact with our surroundings, Synedelica opens new perspectives at the intersection between virtual and physical. Our approach encourages the SIGGRAPH community to explore the innovative capacity of intuitive and serendipitous design.
