Please note:
A prospectus defence differs from a formal dissertation defence in that it is a preliminary tool to help guide the student in refining their dissertation topic, for the eventual defence of their final dissertation through a formal oral examination.
The student will defend their prospectus by describing their research and its relation to current scholarship, as well as the theoretical approach and methodology undertaken.
