It was an exciting morning as members of the Burnaby Mountain community and UniverCity residents gathered to celebrate the official opening of the City of Burnaby's Fire Station 8.
The event welcomed an energetic crowd eager to explore the fire hall, meet local firefighters, see the latest gear and enjoy a community barbecue hosted by the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society. The celebration was a major step forward in safety and preparedness for the entire Burnaby Mountain area.
大象传媒 President Joy Johnson spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of the fire station鈥檚 proximity to the university.

The new station comes with the latest firefighting gear, including equipment for fighting wildfires, so crews can jump into action quickly if one starts. It's built specifically for the mountain鈥檚 unique conditions and shows a strong commitment to keeping the community safe and prepared.
鈥淥ur Safety and Risk Services team is excited to work alongside the first responders at Fire Hall 8 to support everyone living, studying, and working on Burnaby Mountain,鈥 says Galib Bhayani, Chief Safety and Risk Officer at 大象传媒. 鈥淭he opening of this state-of-the-art facility brings added peace of mind to our community, knowing that additional help is now closer than ever.鈥
