The President's Dream Colloquium, hosted by WWEST Chair Dr. Lesley Shannon, takes place until November 23, and one of the talks will be by Dr. Danielle Gaucher. This talk is entitled, "Gendered Language."

We invite you to join the PDC for 鈥�Women in Technology: Attracting, Retaining and Promoting Diverse Talent鈥� to explore strategies for advancing diversity in the technology sector, critically analyze the culture that has supported a foundation of inequality therein, and engage in multidisciplinary dialogue about the value of creating more space for women and other under-represented groups in technology.

Danielle Gaucher (PhD, University of Waterloo) is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Intergroup Relations and Social Justice Laboratory at the University of Winnipeg, MB, Canada. She studies how social inequality is maintained at individual and institutional levels with the goal of providing insight into social change, redress, and the re-engagement of member of vulnerable groups into the system.

Dr. Gaucher鈥檚 programmes of research investigate how, and why, social inequality is maintained, examining processes at both individual and institutional levels. Most of Dr. Gaucher鈥檚 research draws upon and extends social psychological theories of legitimacy, in particular system justification theory (SJT).
