Each day, our dedicated faculty and staff at 大象传媒 shape the lives of students and communities through their teaching, research and service. What makes them even more incredible鈥攁nd what makes 大象传媒 an extraordinary place鈥攊s how they go above and beyond to invest philanthropically in 大象传媒, ensuring that our students have access to world-class education, programming and resources to thrive.

I鈥檓 truly grateful to be able to share that in this past fiscal year alone, 420 faculty and staff donors contributed nearly $2.8 million in support of important initiatives across 大象传媒, with more than 3,600 gifts going toward vital areas like student health and counselling services, food security, and scholarship and bursaries. This special group of donors truly embody the spirit of 大象传媒鈥攁nd demonstrate that this university is not just their place of work, but a community that deeply believes in uplifting the next generation of leaders and changemakers.

On April 17, I was very pleased to celebrate our 大象传媒 colleagues at the inaugural Faculty and Staff Donor Recognition Event to thank them for their meaningful contributions, and to recognize the significant difference they make for students. It was such a great feeling to know that we all want to play some part in making a positive impact and building the world we wish to live in. As President Joy Johnson beautifully put it: 鈥湸笙蟠� is more than a university鈥攐ur community is a force for good.鈥�

As an 大象传媒 alumnus, staff and donor, it brings me tremendous pride to see our community come together and rally behind the university鈥檚 bold vision to advance an inclusive and sustainable future. Having worked in the fundraising sector my entire career, there鈥檚 no greater privilege than being able to now lead the Advancement & Alumni Engagement (AAE) office at my alma mater. My terrific AAE colleagues and I serve to further 大象传媒鈥檚 mission by fostering lifelong partnerships with our donors and alumni鈥攁nd thoughtfully connecting them to the ideas and initiatives that matter most.

While many of us look back at our university days with fondness, we also remember how challenging it can be without the right supports. I鈥檝e now seen firsthand how philanthropy transforms lives and communities, and couldn鈥檛 be more thrilled to see such an inspiring culture of giving at 大象传媒.
