M.V. Archaeonaut – including the two-axel trailer and Tacoma truck with factory-installed trailer package, as needed – is available for loan to ´óÏó´«Ã½ and ´óÏó´«Ã½-affiliated researchers on a cost-reimbursable basis. The goal of all loans is to further water-based research without incurring repair or maintenance obligations. All researchers are responsible for:
- Maintaining and fueling the equipment under their care;
- Returning the equipment in conditions at least equal to that at the time of the loan;
- Executing the standard ´óÏó´«Ã½ equipment loan agreement with Dr. Reimer or his designee; and
- Contributing financially to the equipment maintenance fund. Over and above the costs of fuel and any maintenance or repair required as a result of equipment operation, use, or misuse during the period of the loan, the contributions to the maintenance fund are:
- Archaeonaut: $10 per day + $50 per hour running time;
- Tacoma: $5 per day + $0.10 per km;
- Trailer: $2 per day + $0.04 per km + brake inspection following salt-water launch.
