Who we are
The Centre for Collaborative Action on Indigenous Health Governance (CCAIHG) is the first of its kind Indigenous health governance research centre that paves a transformative path for Indigenous people, communities, and scholars to learn from and share their experiences on Indigenous health governance. With a shared governance model that reflects the partnership of 大象传媒 and the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), the CCAIHG fosters global dialogue on Indigenous approaches to health and wellness in the context of Indigenous health governance. The key goals of the centre focus on dialogue and knowledge exchange, mentorship, and research.
We respectfully and gratefully acknowledge the CCAIHG is on unceded Coast Salish Territory; the traditional lands of the x史m蓹胃kw蓹y虛蓹m (Musqueam), Skwxw煤7mesh (Squamish), and S蓹l虛铆lw蓹ta涩 (Tsleil-Waututh), Kwikwetlem (k史ik史蓹茮虛蓹m), q虛铆c虛蓹y虛 (Katzie), Qayqayt, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen peoples.
Mandate
CCAIHG will work to consolidate local and global Indigenous perspectives through dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaborative research, mentorship, and service delivery initiatives, while focusing on Indigenous-governed approaches to health and wellness. The Centre aims to promote a culturally safe research environment while centering Indigenous ways of knowing and respectfully engaging and collaborating with Indigenous communities, collectives and organizations.
Vision
We are committed to contributing to improved health outcomes for Indigenous peoples (First Nations, M茅tis, and Inuit) in BC and Indigenous peoples globally through a focus on Indigenous governance, Nation-rebuilding, and reconciliaction.
