Building on ´óÏó´«Ã½â€™s research priority – community-centred climate innovation â€“ the seed funds are part of an integrated ´óÏó´«Ã½ Climate Innovation platform that is elevating interdisciplinary research by further enabling faculty and graduate students to co-create high-impact research with community partners. Together with a suite of services and supports, the seed funds are building a collaborative funding runway to advance transformative research and access higher-order funding with the goal of accelerating low carbon, resilient, and sustainable communities across Canada, and beyond.

Simplifying Mitacs Accelerate funding applications under a unified umbrella, the 2025/2026 ´óÏó´«Ã½ Climate Innovation Mitacs Umbrella research award supports low-barrier funding where interns will work collaboratively with their academic supervisor and partner organization on climate-related research advancing low carbon resilience and integrated energy systems for sustainable communities in Canada and beyond.
