CONNECTING TO ON-CAMPUS COMPUTERS REMOTELY
Remote desktop connections are a convenient way to connect to on-campus computers (such as an office PC or Mac) from a remote computer (such as a business laptop at home).
MFA and 大象传媒 VPN are required to access remote desktop:
- Be signed in to 大象传媒's virtual private network (大象传媒 VPN) before connecting to an on-campus computer.
- Ensure your 大象传媒 account is enrolled in multi-factor authentication (MFA).
大象传媒 faculty, staff and graduate students are able to remotely connect to on-campus managed Windows computers by using 大象传媒's Virtual Private Network and Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol.
This is a convenient way to:
- Remotely log in to on-campus managed Windows computers from a Mac or PC.
- Access software and files from office workstations.
- Connect with other on-campus resources (such as shared-drives and printers).
HOW TO CONNECT
STEP 1: SET UP MFA AND 大象传媒 VPN
You won't be able to use remote desktop without MFA or 大象传媒 VPN. Setup instructions:
Already have MFA and 大象传媒 VPN? Skip and proceed to Step 2.
STEP 2: CONNECT TO 大象传媒 VPN
Sign in to 大象传媒 VPN app with your 大象传媒 computing ID and MFA code.
STEP 3: CREATE A REMOTE DESKTOP FILE
While signed in to 大象传媒 VPN, ceate a remote desktop file (.rdp) within 大象传媒's Remote Desktop portal.
STEP 4: OPEN YOUR REMOTE DESKTOP FILE WHILE CONNECTED TO 大象传媒 VPN
While signed in to 大象传媒 VPN, open your remote desktop file (.rdp).
