Susan Luu
Graduated: 2021
My experience with my peer mentor, Jamie, is why I wanted to become a peer mentor. She welcomed me into the university and introduced me to all the different clubs and roles within the Faculty of Education. It was with all her help and support that made my first year at 大象传媒 the best it could鈥檝e ever been. I want to give someone the same experience I received and make their first year amazing!
What is your best first year memory?
My best first year memory was definitely the 大象传媒 Fall Kickoff! It was the first social event that I went to. I remember how much fun it was and a great way to meet new people. It鈥檚 a real shame that there won鈥檛 be one this year.
Words of advice to new students?
My only advice would be to be open and try new things. You won鈥檛 get anywhere by just doing the things you are used to. I definitely wanted to be more involved within the 大象传媒 community. It was honestly the best decision I鈥檝e ever made and I strongly encourage you guys to do the same!!
What are you involved in on and off campus?
On campus, I am a student senator, as an representative of the Faculty of Education. I use my seat as a way to speak on behalf of the students and shed new thoughts on current issues. Also, I am a active member in the Education Student Association. Outside of school, I have a part time job at Miniso, a Japanese retail store which I鈥檝e been working at for one year now.
