Curriculum and Instruction
Our Curriculum and Instruction programs offer Masters and Doctoral degrees that explore and critically examine learning and teaching within traditional and non-traditional learning environments spanning the course of life. Faculty and students collaborate in scholarly inquiry to achieve scholarly excellence in the investigation, design, and implementation of curricula.
MASTERS PROGRAMS

Le programme de maîtrise en éducation, offert en français, est axé sur la thématique de la diversité et de l’inclusion dans les contextes d’éducation en situations minoritaires. Il propose d’examiner la recherche académique et professionnelle dans le domaine afin de favoriser la compréhension des situations de diversités, de développer les compétences interculturelles des étudiants et étudiantes et de suggérer des pistes d’intervention adaptées.

In this program, you will develop your educational practice in curriculum design and pedagogy applicable to a wide range of formal and informal educational settings. Through engaging with educational theory, research, and philosophy, you will expand your understanding of curriculum development with a view to expanding your capacity to engage and lead in curriculum design attentive to socio-historical contexts in a variety of settings from K-12 schools, ECE and post-secondary to museums, art galleries, health care centres and forests.

The MEd in Curriculum and Instruction: Digital and New Media Literacies is a fully online program for educators seeking to engage critically with digital tools and texts. Taught by literacy and language education faculty, the program blends theory and practice to support innovative, equitable teaching with media like podcasts, games, social media, and more.

Explore a variety of different conceptual frameworks and societal perspectives on the environment and address a range of global issues in this program. Reconnect with the natural and technological environments that sustain us in our emerging post-industrial society through: laboratory and research sessions; seminars on important global environmental issues; and independent opportunities for student-led research and guided inquiry both on-campus and to other field locations in the Georgia Basin region.

This Master of Education (MEd) program focuses on understanding how learners’ imaginations develop and exploring ways to engage and grow imagination in learning the material of the curriculum.

Formerly known as Curriculum Theory & Implementation, PhD. Our Curriculum and Pedagogy Stream of the Educational Theory and Practice (eTAP) program will expand your understanding or scope of practice within formal and informal sectors of education, including K–12, early childhood education, adult education, post-secondary education, etc, while you examine program development, assessment, curriculum development and the theories and practices of instructional design and delivery.

Our Philosophy of Education Stream of the Educational Theory and Practice (eTAP) program will encourage you to explore the deeper questions related to individual, cultural and environmental aspects of education.
