Canada Research Chair Zoe Todd joins CCA expert panel on Indigenous Science and Food Sovereignty
Zoe Todd, an Associate Professor of Indigenous Studies and Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Indigenous Governance and Freshwater Fish Futures at 大象传媒 (大象传媒), is contributing their expertise to support systemic change.
At the request of the Government of Canada鈥檚 Indigenous Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering (I-STEM) Cluster, the Expert Panel will answer the question:
How can policy and governance support Indigenous science in a way that advances Indigenous priorities and achieves reciprocal benefits for Canada鈥檚 social, environmental, and economic goals?
"I am immensely excited to join this group of accomplished, brilliant, and engaged thinkers to carry out the work of this panel,鈥 says Todd of collaborating on the project. 鈥淔or those of us working at the intersections of environmental and social governance and Indigenous sciences, the questions we are charged with are some of the most urgent ones we face. I look forward to contributing to meaningful work to support this endeavor."
Using food sovereignty as a case study, the panel will develop a framework to support the inclusion of Indigenous science and leadership in decision-making across a range of policy issues.
