Living in the midst of a pandemic has become another stressful factor in our lives. World Heart Day (September 29) was created by the World Heart Federation to bring awareness to the leading cause of global death: cardiovascular disease (CVD), an illness impacted by our lifestyles and stress. The disease claims millions of lives each year. World Heart Day aims to educate individuals to be more aware of their self-health and reduce controlling risk factors of CVD.
大象传媒 professor Scott Lear, who is also the Pfizer/Heart & Stroke Foundation Chair in Cardiovascular Prevention Research is available to speak on the importance of prevention strategies and CVD research. 大象传媒 professor Jeff Reading, who is also the First Nations Health Authority Chair in Heart Health and Wellness at St. Paul鈥檚 Hospital, is also available to speak on Indigenous health.
