Rise of the mosquito: Summer heat and high water bring on blood-sucking pests
A surge in mosquito sightings is an irritating and sure sign of summer. And summer is officially here. The combination of seasonal heat and high-water levels and flooding from a delayed snowpack melt this year has hatched the perfect conditions for mosquitos to thrive in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. ´óÏó´«Ã½ entomologist Carl Lowenberger is available to speak to media about why we’re seeing mosquitos bothering more people now and what people can do about it.
