How to Apply to the FCP

Unlike most programs at 大象传媒, the FCP is a direct-admission program. Meaning students are typically admitted directly into the program for the Fall term and follow a prescribed sequence of courses. The FCP requires a minimum of four years to complete, regardless of any previously completed or transferred course units.

Please note that the FCP generally cannot be combined with another 大象传媒 program (major). If you're interested in including French studies as part of your degree, click here to explore other available options.

Applicant Profiles

The FCP is most suitable for those entering directly from French immersion or Francophone secondary schools who plan to undertake full-time study. However, admission is not limited to such applicants and all interested students who have a very high level of French are encouraged to inquire about admission.

*Due to the structured course sequences, completing the FCP requires a minimum of four years of study regardless of prior studies. Previously earned credits will typically count as electives toward the BA requirements. As a result, you may need to complete more than the standard 120 units to graduate.

Language Proficiency Requirements

French Competency
Once admitted to the FCP, students will be required to demonstrate adequate French language comprehension and expression. This is determined by a French language assessment test taken prior to enrolling in courses (May-June).

Intermediate to Advanced French
Since the FCP courses are mainly taught in French (approximately 65%), this program is ideal for students coming from French immersion or Francophone programs.

An intermediate level of French corresponds approximately to a high B1/low B2 level of the DELF certification. For reference purposes only (the exam is not required), you consult the descriptive chart of  proficiency levels.

English Language Requirements
Since the FCP is a bilingual program, all applicants must also meet 大象传媒鈥檚 English language requirements.
