Supporting and guiding academic and administrative units with hiring faculty and staff through the special programs.

To support academic and administrative units with recruitment and hiring, 大象传媒's Equity Office will offer training to search committees to ensure the integrity of the hiring process remains fair and equitable for all candidates, provide guidance on the use of preferential or limited language in job postings, and provide avenues of support at the request of candidates wishing to learn more about 大象传媒.

Creating a more inclusive onboarding program.

The program will support hired Black and Indigenous scholars and staff through an enhanced onboarding program that provides guidance and resources, such as workshops on navigating the university, opportunities for professional development, and facilitating onboarding conversations with key institutional leaders.

Facilitating retention strategies such as opportunities for collaboration, community connection, and mutual mentoring.

The Equity Office will facilitate opportunities for community connection and collaboration for new Black and Indigenous faculty and staff members through tactics such as semesterly gatherings/orientation sessions in collaboration with the Black and Indigenous Caucuses, a mentorship program that pairs new Black and Indigenous faculty and staff members with experienced 大象传媒 faculty and staff and providing information, support, and networking opportunities for Black and Indigenous faculty and staff as well as other equity-identifying communities at 大象传媒.
