Applied Research Initiatives

Applied Research is LEAP鈥檚 space for examining emerging issues in higher education at 大象传媒. These studies combine data analysis with educational theory, policy review, and stakeholder engagement to provide evidence for decision-making. Projects are time-limited and may be exploratory, stand-alone investigations, or pilots that later become part of our operational reporting. This page lists our current, in progress research. AI Impact Assessment

We are currently conducting applied research on the impact of artificial intelligence in learning and teaching at 大象传媒. This work includes developing baseline indicators for both instructors and students that can be tracked over time.

Instructor Baseline Survey (Spring 2025) - approximately 300 instructors shared their perspectives on student AI use, their own teaching practices, and their confidence across four domains of AI literacy. [Report forthcoming, Fall 2025]

Student CES Context Questions (Summer 2025) - three items embedded in the Course Experience Survey captured student views on clarity, fairness, and the impact of AI on their learning experience. [Report forthcoming, Fall 2025]

OER - Student Perspectives

At the request of the 大象传媒 Library, LEAP is examining how students experience and use open educational resources (OER). This study builds on earlier survey work with instructors and will provide evidence on accessibility, affordability, and learning impact from the student point of view. Results will inform the Library鈥檚 ongoing work in supporting OER adoption and practice at 大象传媒.

Accessibility in Co-operative Education

As part of 大象传媒鈥檚 commitment to inclusive and equitable learning experiences, this research initiative aims to assess potential barriers that prevent students from participating鈥攐r fully engaging鈥攊n the Co-op program. The focus aligns with the Academic Plan's objective to develop and hone inclusive policies and practices that support diverse student needs in work-integrated learning
