Bursaries are a supplemental source of funding for students with demonstrated financial need. They should not be treated as your primary source of funding. Bursaries are available to qualifying Canadian and international students.  You should be aware that you may not be awarded a bursary every term. Please note that due to the high volume of applications received each term, payment of funds may not occur until the middle of the term of application; therefore, we encourage you to plan accordingly.

"Receiving a scholarship award has been a meaningful recognition of the hard work I have invested in my academic and professional journey, and a motivation to pay it forward and help others. Receiving this award has removed some of the financial stress of the program and allowed me to participate in the exciting events and experiences offered by the program."
Laura Jung, MBA alumnus (Spring 2024)
Senior Project Manager, Merkle
"Being nominated for a scholarship was transformative in making this opportunity accessible. Unlike a traditional master's degree, an MBA represents a significant financial investment, and the scholarship support was crucial in managing life expenses while allowing me to fully engage with the program. It meant I could continue prioritizing my family's needs without financial strain."
Russell Mayert, MBA alumnus (Fall 2024)
Vice Principal, North Vancouver School District #44
Domestic students
Domestic students may be eligible for a variety of financial assistance options, including federal and provincial student loans and other government-funded programs. We encourage students to explore these resources early to help plan for their educational expenses.
Tuition tax credit
Participants who pay all or part of the program fees personally are eligible to claim a tuition tax credit on the tuition portion of the fees. For more information, ask a professional income tax advisor to give you an assessment of the impact of your tuition on your personal tax situation.
Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP)
The LLP allows individuals to withdraw amounts from their registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) to finance their own education or that of their spouse/partner. Amounts withdrawn under the LLP do not count towards income and the RRSP issuer does not withhold taxes on these amounts. Withdrawals must be repaid over a period of no more than 10 years.
Bank loan & student line of credit options
Many financial institutions offer loans and financing options for graduate-level education. We encourage you to contact your banking advisor at your preferred financial institution to explore the options available to you.
International students
International students should arrange for financial assistance through institutions in their home country as they are not eligible to apply for the Federal and Provincial Student Loan Programs or loans through Canadian financial institutions.
