Bursaries are a supplemental source of funding for students with demonstrated financial need. They should not be treated as your primary source of funding. Bursaries are available to qualifying Canadian and international students.  You should be aware that you may not be awarded a bursary every term. Please note that due to the high volume of applications received each term, payment of funds may not occur until the middle of the term of application; therefore, we encourage you to plan accordingly.
Domestic students
Domestic students may be eligible for a variety of financial assistance options, including federal and provincial student loans and other government-funded programs. We encourage students to explore these resources early to help plan for their educational expenses.
StudentAid BC
StudentAid BC helps eligible BC students with the cost of their post-secondary education through loans, grants, scholarships, and other programs.
Canada Student Grant and Loans
The Government of Canada offers grants and loans to domestic students to assist with paying for their post-secondary education. Students must apply within their province or territory of residence.
Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP)
The LLP allows individuals to withdraw amounts from their registered retirement savings plans (RRSPs) to finance their own education or that of their spouse/partner. Amounts withdrawn under the LLP do not count towards income and the RRSP issuer does not withhold taxes on these amounts. Withdrawals must be repaid over a period of no more than 10 years.
Bank loan & student line of credit options
Many financial institutions offer loans and financing options for graduate-level education. We encourage you to contact your banking advisor at your preferred financial institution to explore the options available to you.
International students
International students should arrange for financial assistance through institutions in their home country before coming to Canada, as they are not eligible to apply for the Federal and Provincial Student Loan Programs or loans through Canadian financial institutions.
PRODIGY FINANCE
Prodigy provides postgraduate student loans and refinancing for studying abroad to international students from over 150 nationalities. Prodigy Finance broadens access to education for international students through study loans that don't require co-signers, collateral, or a credit history.
