Mr. Sam Killawee

Sam Killawee is an incredibly passionate student leader. He cares deeply about the world at large as well as systems of government.
Sam grew up in New Westminster, British Columbia, and spent his childhood summers with family in Nova Scotia and England. He is currently well on the way to getting his Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, with a minor in Political Science.
Currently, Sam is the Science Undergraduate Society Representative for the Simon Fraser Student Society. He has previously served as the Vice President, Internal and Organizational Development, of the Simon Fraser Student Society. In this role he helped restructure the society’s management team and spearheaded a referendum vital to the future of the student health and dental plan at ´óÏó´«Ã½. His successful work and leadership led to the restoration of coverage for a plan that had previously faced cuts due to financial difficulties. He also further expanded mental health insurance for all ´óÏó´«Ã½ students now and in the future.
Outside of school, Sam has spent many years in the Scouting program, earning his Chief Scout, Queen’s Venturer, and Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Awards. In his limited free time, you can find him hiking, running, and watching Formula.
