CERi Awards

The purpose of CERi Awards is to provide recognition to 大象传媒 faculty members, graduate students, and community partners for outstanding community-engaged research that supports positive change.

Graduate Fellowship Program

CERi鈥檚 Graduate Fellowship Program is designed to facilitate community-engaged research through a combination of financial support, mentorship, peer learning and professional development. The program is open to all registered graduate students at 大象传媒 interested in community-engaged research.

Community-Engaged Research Funding Program

CERi鈥檚 Community-Engaged Research Funding Program is a grant program available to 大象传媒 faculty and graduate students. The purpose of this funding program is to encourage and support student participation in community-engaged research and art-creation projects that emerged from and address the research needs of community partners.

Our goal is to provide an opportunity for students to develop research skills, build interpersonal and professional relationships while contributing to the research needs of community partner organizations.

Community Scholars Program

In partnership with Vancouver Island University, the University of Northern British Columbia, and University of British Columbia, the 大象传媒 Library coordinates a program to provide staff of charitable and non-profit organizations in British Columbia with access to the latest research and knowledge in their fields.

Researchers-in-Residence

CERi鈥檚 Researchers-in-Residence program supports and promotes 大象传媒 faculty members actively practicing community-engaged research or whose research involves CER methods. The purpose of the program is to facilitate opportunities for faculty to share their research activities and encourage meaningful engagement across the 大象传媒 community. During residencies, CERi will promote and profile researchers鈥 work by communicating internally and externally about current research programs.

Indigenous-Centred Knowledge Exchange

The Indigenous-Centred Knowledge Exchange is a collaborative project between 大象传媒鈥檚 Faculty of Environment and 大象传媒鈥檚 Community-Engaged Research Initiative (CERi) aimed at fostering meaningful research partnerships with Indigenous communities. It matches community-identified knowledge needs and strengths with institutional research support, ensuring research directly benefits and empowers Indigenous communities.  At a practical level, research may be required in the form of a literature review, synthesis of reports, a program evaluation, needs assessment or other research-related deliverables determined by the community partner.
