About 大象传媒's Privacy Management Program
The mission of 大象传媒鈥檚 Privacy Management Program is to enhance the University鈥檚 accountability as a public body entrusted with vast amounts of personal information about its students, employees, alumni, and other third-party affiliates. 大象传媒 has both an ethical and legal obligation to safeguard personal privacy.
Section 36.2 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) requires B.C. public bodies (such as the University) to develop a privacy management program (PMP).
The Privacy Management Program Directions (PMP Directions), issued by the minister responsible for FIPPA, describe the mandatory components for PMPs. Taken together, these components enhance the University鈥檚 overall accountability to its students, employees and other stakeholders while also promoting and enhancing trust in the individuals for whose personal information we are responsible.
The relevant components of the PMP Directions are:
1. DESIGNATING A PRIVACY CONTACT PERSON
The University has designated a privacy contact person as the point of contact for privacy-related matters such as privacy questions or concerns.

2. PRIVACY IMPACT ASSESSMENTS AND INFORMATION-SHARING AGREEMENTS
The University has a process in place for completing and documenting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Information-Sharing Agreements (ISAs).

3. PRIVACY COMPLAINTS AND PRIVACY BREACHES
The University has documented processes in place to respond to any privacy breaches and complaints.
