Volunteer with the Fringe!

The team at the Vancouver Fringe Festival asked us to share this call for volunteers. Interested? Read on:

The is BC’蝉 largest theatre festival, and we are back for our 41st anniversary! The Fringe is an 11-day theater extravaganza, bringing over 400 shows from NUMBER artists from near and far, and attracting upwards of 25,000 attendees. Every year, over 300 volunteers from all walks of life come together to help make the Fringe possible! No matter your skillset or interests, we offer roles for everyone, including registration, ushers, production crew and even serving drinks at the iconic Fringe Bar. Fringe volunteers put in blood, sweat and tears into their work and make up the soul of the Vancouver Fringe Festival!

In return, volunteers can enjoy a wide range of perks, including: a Fringe T-shirt, a Rush Pass to Fringe shows, snacks and refreshments, a volunteer participation letters (upon meeting required hours), and the chance to take part in the Fringe community!

This year's festival takes place primarily on Granville Island, from Sept 4 - 14, 2025. We are looking for volunteers who can commit 16 hours (approximately 4 shifts) during the Festival.

PTC Fringe Prize deadline + Block A

Playwrights Theatre Centre, which has , has extended the deadline for their PTC Fringe Prize to July 10, 2025. Here's what the PTC Fringe Prize offers:

  • 13 months of dramaturgical support with PTC Dramaturg, Davey Samuel Calderon
  • Minimum 3 weeks of free rehearsal space to bring your vision to life
  • Production mentorship for producers or producing teams — including grant writing, production planning, and fundraising support
  • Artist passes to the 2025 Vancouver Fringe Festival

  • The PTC Fringe Prize is valued at $16,000.

Richmond Public Art calling

The Richmond Public Art Program and Richmond Art Gallery are inviting artists and artist collectives/groups to submit lens-based proposals for temporary public art installations at one of two locations on the Canada Line: Aberdeen Station and Richmond-Brighouse Station, as part of 2026.

  • Artist Fee: $1,500 CAD
  • Submission Deadline: August 5, 2025
  • Eligibility: Open to professional artists*
  • Exhibition Duration: April 2026 - March 2027

The selected works will be installed for the duration of April 2026 – March 2027 as part of Capture Photography Festival.

*Richmond-based applicants will be selected for Richmond-Brighouse Station.
