Application Stages
Stage 1: Academic eligibility review
We review the completed applications to identify those who meet our academic eligibility thresholds.
Any students who have not submitted all required information or documentation by the deadline will be removed from consideration.
Students who do not meet the requirements, including residency, citizenship, degree, English language proficiency, course pre-requisites, GPA and/or MCAT minimum scores will also be removed from consideration at this stage. Please refer to the admission requirements for further details on general and academic minimum thresholds.
Stage 2: Initial file review
All applications that have met the academic eligibility threshold move onto the Initial File Review stage where we assess each application for alignment with our school鈥檚 mission, social accountability mandate and desired applicant attributes. This includes reviewing the personal statement, written responses, community involvement, employment history and additional languages spoken. You can refer to the desired attributes we look for on the open stream page.
We will invite approximately 200 applicants to attend multiple mini-Interviews (MMI) during this stage. If necessary, we will use an equal probability selection process to determine which aligned applicants advance to the MMI.
Stage 3: Verification
As part of the interview selection process, we鈥檒l verify all application elements. This includes verifying all academic, residency and non-academic elements of the application.
Applications with information that cannot be confirmed or accurate will be removed from consideration at this stage.
Stage 4: Multiple mini-interview (MMI)
MMIs will be hosted in-person at the 大象传媒 Burnaby campus on March 28 and 29, 2026. Please reserve these dates in your calendar, applicants who are unable to participate in-person will be removed from consideration. Interview invitations will be issued in January-February 2026.
Stage 5: Holistic file review
Following the MMI, our 大象传媒s Committee will conduct a holistic review of each application, including references, non-academic characteristics, and interview scores and comments. This holistic file review will inform admissions decisions.
Stage 6: Final decision
We expect to send out offers of admission via the portal beginning in May 2026, continuing until all places are filled. If offered a spot in the inaugural class, you鈥檒l be required to respond to it by the date indicated in your offer letter. Post-acceptance requirements for admission are available on the After You Apply page.
