INTRODUCTION
Our innovative MD program will educate medical students in communities, preparing graduates to address the primary care needs of B.C.鈥檚 diverse populations and communities.
There are three (3) year-long, required courses to complete the MD degree:
The curriculum has been created, and will be delivered primarily by family physicians and other generalists, with additional perspectives provided by specialist physicians, primary care providers, researchers, Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers. This approach ensures the curriculum stays locally relevant and authentically addresses the health-care challenges and needs of the communities where students learn.
Program schedule
The MD program consists of 131 weeks of instruction over three (3) years. The incoming class will begin studies in the first week of August. The students have been recommended for graduation will conclude the program at the end of April in their third year of studies.
