Introduction
Make a positive impact on B.C.鈥檚 health challenges
Too many British Columbians can鈥檛 find a family doctor or access timely primary care. This is a crucial gap, because primary care is the foundation of health care, addressing the whole person in the context of their community, family, and life circumstances. At 大象传媒鈥檚 new School of Medicine, we are ready to lead change, and we鈥檙e looking for applicants who will join us in transforming the health system.
We will train skilled physicians who are ready to collaborate, lead, and deliver high-quality, team-based care with respect for diverse perspectives and Indigenous knowledge systems. Our graduates will serve where they are most needed and help shape a more just and community-centred primary care system across British Columbia.
If you鈥檙e interested in being a community-centred physician, caring for a diverse population of patients with respect and collaboration, we encourage you to apply to our MD program. Based out of our 大象传媒 Surrey campus in the heart of the Fraser Health Region, our inaugural class of 48 students will begin in August 2026.

大象传媒s Streams
To balance rigour with accessibility, we have developed three distinct admissions options within two admissions streams. These options recognize diverse routes to medical education, promoting inclusivity by providing multiple ways to demonstrate that you are academically ready for the challenges of medical school.
Overall admissions process
The diagram illustrates the overall admissions process. The main difference between the streams is the Welcoming Procedure in the Indigenous stream, which is an additional step to ensure a culturally safe and respectful introduction to 大象传媒 and the School of Medicine.
We welcome students from all academic and personal backgrounds who are committed to becoming physicians offering equitable, community-based primary health care to all, including underserved populations. Our two admissions streams are:
Open stream: Available to all applicants.
Indigenous stream: Anyone identifying as First Nations, Inuit or M茅tis may apply through our Indigenous stream or our open stream.
Application process
We look forward to welcoming our inaugural class in August 2026. If you鈥檙e interested in applying, we suggest you review the complete process before starting.
