MD Program
Electives
The MD program includes opportunities for elective learning experiences in the second and third years to allow students to meaningfully explore and enhance their understanding of medical specialties and to complement and supplement their learning.
The program allows for a total of 16 weeks of electives within three areas:
medical_services
Clinical Care
Students select from a range of electives in community-based clinical care and hospital-based clinical care.
school
Scholarship
Students participate in scholarly work under the guidance and supervision of a faculty supervisor.
local_library
Community Service
Students work with leaders and teams within an organization, such as an affiliated First Nation or community agency.
In alignment with the 大象传媒 School of Medicine鈥檚 focus on primary care, students will be required to complete a minimum of four (4) weeks of electives in family medicine and a minimum of four (4) weeks of electives in select generalist disciplines. In accordance with the AFMC Elective Diversification Policy, elective opportunities cannot exceed a maximum of eight weeks in any single entry-level discipline.

Visiting electives
As a brand-new medical school, the 大象传媒 School of Medicine will not be accepting visiting students until the first cohort of MD program students complete their first year of electives. Once available, information about 大象传媒 elective offerings and the application process will be posted on the .
